Psalm 1, is a perfect introduction to Israel’s hymn book where the saint and sinner is contrasted. The saint is seen for the things he doesn’t do and the things that he does do with a predicted result of joy and fruitfulness. Whereas the sinner because of his refusal to come to God will eventually be separated from the saints and be judged and damned.
Psalm 2 is a messianic psalm in that we see the world from God’s perspective. As such, He has set His Son, Jesus, to be the righteous standard by which all will one be judged.
