How To Wait Upon God
Nehemiah 2:1-10
In chapter two we find Nehemiah taking a chance to risk his very life. Having been burdened for his ancestor’s city of Jerusalem, he enters the presence of the king with a saddened face, which normally would be grounds for death. As said, this was risky. After all, how would a heathen king be sympathetic to Nehemiah and his burden for the state of Jerusalem? Yet, we find that God was in control and Artaxerxes was totally open to sending Nehemiah to investigate the matter and help in the rebuilding of the city. Moreover, the king provided resources for Nehemiah according to the good hand of God upon him.
