Zedekiah In The Hot Seat
Jeremiah 34-38
In the final days of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, God offers his mercy to the people and the last king, Zedekiah, who was a weak puppet king, the chance to have their lives preserved if they would only surrender to Babylon. But they did not listen to Jeremiah’s word and disobeyed God and as a result, God had no choice but to bring recompense upon these wayward people. Through these final years, Jeremiah would be heavily persecuted because of his unpopular message. However, during this dark time, there was one family, the Rechabites, who were still faithful whom God used as examples.
