A Nation Returns to Its Roots
Nehemiah 9
The national revival, which began in the last study, continues with the Jews, led by godly leaders, fasting and confessing their sins to God. Throughout chapter nine, the people recount God’s faithfulness in the past and their waywardness that prompted God’s judgment by delivering the people into captivity. In spite of their national sin, they acknowledge that God, because He is a covenant keeping God, did not forsake His people, but restored them back into their land. On that basis, the with one accord renew their commitment and covenant with God.
