To the Ends of the Earth
Acts 11:19-30
After the death of Stephen, the Church’s first martyr, and the persecution that followed, many believers in Jerusalem were forced to disperse going in all directions. As such, they carried the good news of the Gospel with them and faithfully proclaimed it. We are told that the hand of the Lord was upon them and many turned to the Lord. The leaders who remained in Jerusalem, upon receiving the report, sent Barnabas to Antioch to investigate this new work of God’s Spirit, who in turn went to Tarsus to get Saul (Paul) and bring him back to Antioch to assist in the teaching of these new believers.
