Haggai 1-2

Haggai was a prophet sent to Judah after the captivity. In his day, like the present, the priority of serving God became secondary to personal needs. As such, God withheld the rain so that they became lacking in food. In addition, any earnings vanished resulting in the people going hungry. Haggai's message to the people was to “consider your ways.” His word from the Lord, was to get back to the basics by putting God first. Then prosperity would return.
