Picture of Like a Weaned Child

Like a Weaned Child

Psalm 131
In this psalm, David uses the analogy of a growing child to illustrate his own spiritual progress and growth. The weaning process in itself can be traumatic and challenging, the unwillingness to change the way things have been done, the need to change foods, eat on your own. Yet weaning is essential, no one can go on being nursed indefinitely. God’s Word often speaks of our need to grow spiritually and that our spiritual growth should somewhat parallel our physical growth. Yet how many Christians, in fully grown bodies, have never matured spiritually.
