True Hearing
Jeremiah 38:14-15
In Jeremiah 38, King Zedekiah summoned the prophet, Jeremiah, for the third and last time hoping that he would be told what he wanted to hear. Unfortunately, Zedekiah heard the words of the prophet, but did not do what he was told. As a result, he was captured by the Babylonians along with his family. He then watched his sons be put to death before his own eyes were gouged out. If Zedekiah had only been willing to not only hear, but also obey, the outcome would have been very different. Pastor Jack also brings James' admonition of how we should not only be hearers of the Word of God, but also doers of the Word.
