Ezekiel 28
God through the prophet Ezekiel had a word for the king of Tyre who had become so esteemed that he thought he was god. Therefore he became doomed for judgment. In this study, Pastor Jack looks further into this chapter to teach us about the individual behind this heathen king who is none other than Satan himself. From the words of this prophecy we see how Satan works through his controlling efforts to effect the minds and actions of individuals especially those in power and leadership.

Acts 18:1-18
Paul, the missionary, goes from Athens to Corinth only to find that his ministry is just as challenging as it was in the big city so much so that the Lord has to speak to Paul in the night telling him that he was not to be afraid, but speak out sharing the Gospel because many in Corinth were to get saved. As a result of his witness, he was arrested and brought before the governing authorities. But before he could speak up, the Lord delivered him and turned the tables on his accusers.

Romans 15:14-33
Winding down our studies in Romans, Pastor Jack looks at Paul’s heart as God’s missionary. From Paul’s life as God’s missionary, we are given several characteristics that should accompany every believer in their life and service to God. Paul was well aware of God’s providence, which made for proper planning. This gave rise to setting priorities. Then above all committing everything to the Lord in prayer. This is a perfect study to know how to set godly goals for living.

Ezekiel 26
In this chapter we are given an amazing prophecy directed toward the ancient city of Tyre. Because of the arrogant attitude these people had toward Jerusalem and God, they were told by Ezekiel, using specific descriptions, that one day their city would be completely destroyed. Indeed, over the next 300 years every word came true. Pastor Jack then concludes that we have every reason to believe God's Word and trust Him for the salvation that He has made available through His Son, Jesus.

Acts 17:15-34
Paul, on his second missionary journey, finds himself in the cultural capital of the world, Athens Greece. Seeing the idolatry and paganism as he walked through the city, he is moved to speak out to a very skeptical audience of philosophers. From his message on Mars Hill, we see the wisdom of God coming through this man's message as he set forth the Gospel.

Romans 15:1-13
The opening verses of chapter 15 are a continuation of what we are taught in the previous chapter about putting the spiritual needs of others above our own. Furthermore we are given the example of Jesus to follow as He did not seek to please Himself, but died for the sake of others. Hence we too should seek to follow Him by putting others first.

The Power Of The Word

Acts 17:1-15
What is key in this chapter is the various attitudes you find in the hearts of men towards the Word of God. In Thessalonica Paul was given three Sabbaths to open and prove Jesus was the Messiah. Some listened with hunger and received Jesus and were given eternal life. Many others were not interested in the truth and though they attended weekly, they were not open to the word of God. Others, like those in Berea, were cautious and yet open-minded, searching and allowing the Word of God to be the final arbiter of their conclusions.

Why Would You Die? Turn And Live

Ezekiel 18
The captives in Babylon had been blaming God for their plight and the Lord responded back to the people telling them that their calamity was the result of their own sin. These verses show that man in general is quick to blame others or their circumstances for their problems when in the end it is one's own personal sin that is to blame. Therefore God tells us all to turn to Him through repentance and receive His forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus.

The Cost Of Evangelism

Acts 16:25-40
In this latter half of Acts 16, we find the Lord continuing His work. From all walks of life they came from a rich businesswoman, a poor slave girl and a middle class jailer. All needed Jesus and were found by Him. For some of the fruit, there was a price to pay by Paul and Silas, but no one was complaining! The church was growing, another local fellowship had been planted, but in a most unorthodox way. Once again we see that God's ways are not our ways.
