1 & 2 Samuel records the growth and rise of the Hebrew nation, Israel. In these two books, we are given close up views of such individuals as Samuel, Saul, Jonathan, and David. We see that these chosen men were much like us as they would often go from victory to defeat. From such experiences we learn that God works in our lives in much the same way.
