Crossing The Jordan

Joshua 3-5
Bookmark and Share
Beginning in chapter three, we find the Children of Israel crossing the Jordan River on dry ground. After crossing, the people erect a memorial of twelve stones commemorating God's faithfulness and His provision through the crossing. Once in the Promised Land the next step of preparation was to circumcise this new generation, symbolizing for us the new life in the Spirit. In chapter five, Joshua has a personal encounter with the Lord, which was the appearance of the pre-incarnate Lord Jesus Christ wherein he is told to take off his sandal because where he was standing was holy ground.
