The opening verses of chapter 15 are a continuation of what we are taught in the previous chapter about putting the spiritual needs of others above our own. Furthermore we are given the example of Jesus to follow as He did not seek to please Himself, but died for the sake of others. Hence we too should seek to follow Him by putting others first.
