If You Can't Stand The Heat
Acts 14:1-20
We continue with Paul and Barnabas in their first missionary journey going to Iconium. Typically they first went to the local synagogue to preach the gospel, which stirred up the Jews to bring about religious persecution. Becoming aware that they might be stoned, these two faithful servants fled to Lystra and Derbe whereupon they healed a lame man, which created quite a stir to the point where Paul and Barnabas were looked upon as gods. Meanwhile Jews from other places came to town and moved the multitudes to stone Paul. Through the experiences of these two, we are made aware that being faithful is not always easy.
