Grace For All

Acts 11:1-18
After Peter’s visit with Cornelius and witnessing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, word gets back to Jerusalem that Peter had entered a Gentile’s house and actually ate with those present. This was troubling for some Jewish Christians since they had been taught to never do this. When Peter arrived back in Jerusalem an argument broke out over this very issue with many no doubt accusing Peter of violating Jewish law. To this Peter, detailed his experience all the way from the heavenly vision in Joppa to the visit in Caesarea and Cornelius’ household. Upon hearing this account, then those who contended with Peter realized that God had opened the door for Gentiles to get saved. A good lesson to realize that we must trust in the Lord rather than a set of rules or traditions.
